Season 1 – Episode 18

Scott Mulvahill is a young songwriter and musician who tours with Ricky Skaggs band. He talks about writing music you are proud of. Check out Scott performing “Someone I’m Singing For” in this episode.

He co-wrote “Keep Your Head Up” and “You’ve Never Left My Mind” with me. From the moment I met Scott in Nashville, I was impressed by how polite, kind, and cool he was – not to mention the fact that he blew me away with his talent and musicianship.

Over my 14 years of traveling and performing in churches I heard too many stories of children and grandchildren who had ‘turned out bad.’ My first thought when I met Scott was how many amazing young people there are, and how easy it is for generations to become disconnected and lose appreciation for what the youth have to offer – simply because they don’t fit into the molds we are used to.
