FROM TAJCI

My friend Rama Kasturi saw my “Waking Up In America” show and suggested I interview Marilyn Hyland, who was helping with the PR for the Clifton Market co-op efforts.

It was such a gift to meet Marilyn! She told me the amazing story of how the town people saved the historic Esquire theatre from being turned into a Wendy’s in 1976. She is an enormously powerful woman who doesn’t give up easily – if ever!

As I talked to her in our pre-interview session, she had this big smile on her face as she said: “We danced in the street before together, we can do it again!”
